HENDERSON (FOX5) — It’s the end of an era for one local waterpark.

On Monday, officials with Cowabunga Bay waterpark announced their plans not to reopen its Henderson location at 900 Galleria Drive during the 2027 season.

The waterpark opened its doors in 2014. Ownership says they will now focus their operations on Cowabunga Canyon in Summerlin. They add that focusing on one park will better serve Las Vegas.

The site will be maintained and secured as ownership plans its future.

“Cowabunga Canyon remains an important part of our future in Las Vegas, and ownership has a strong desire to continue investing in the park and enhancing the overall guest experience,” the spokesperson added.

“While we close one chapter in Henderson, we look forward to continuing to create lasting memories for families across Southern Nevada.”

Cowabunga Canyon in Summerlin will open as usual for summer 2027. The location rebranded and renovated back in 2022, offering a number of waterslides and attractions similar to Cowabunga Bay.

Additionally, already purchased 2027 Cowabunga Vegas Season Passes will be honored there, officials say.

Cowabunga Canyon is located at 7055 S. Fort Apache Road near Warm Springs Road.
