LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — More than 100 cyclists, including local first responders, gathered on Fremont Street on Friday for EōS Fitness’ ninth annual Freedom Ride, pedaling for 343 minutes to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The tribute ride raised over $15,000 to benefit the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada Benevolent Association and Southern Nevada Concerns of Police Survivors, with donations continuing to roll in.

Community leaders and local officials praised the memorial event, with Fremont Street’s president calling it “the best thing we’ve ever hosted on Fremont” and requesting its return next year.
A Las Vegas Fire Department battalion chief emphasized the emotional impact of the tribute, noting, “That ride was exactly what today needed.”
