DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. (KOLO) – Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting a second case of Hantavirus in Douglas County.

Health officials say the case is in a 50-year-old woman, who was hospitalized.

The suspected exposure was from inhalation or direct contact with rodent droppings, urine, or nesting materials distributed during household renovations in the weeks prior to the woman developing symptoms.

A full investigation into how the woman caught the virus is under investigation.
