LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Just One Project is opening a no-cost community market inside Bonanza High School, giving students and their families access to free groceries.
Mayor Shelley Berkley is expected to attend today’s grand opening and deliver remarks.
The market is part of a broader expansion made possible through a new partnership with the Toyota USA Foundation, which is providing five years of funding for no-cost community markets at Bonanza High School, Garside Middle School, and Red Rock Elementary.
The Clark County School District helped secure the multi-year funding to bring the program to campus.
The goal of the markets is to provide students with consistent access to nutritious food and to reach more families facing challenges with grocery costs.
