CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) – Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar is urging the state’s Congressional Representatives to deploy election observers to U.S. Post Offices.
He sent letters to U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen, as well as Representatives Mark Amodei, Steven Horsford, Susie Lee and Dina Titus asking for the observers.
Aguilar says the observers will help ensure smooth and uninterrupted election processes during the midterms.
“The Supreme Court made it clear that the President’s attempts to restrict mail voting are unlawful, and I will continue to stand up against any other efforts of federal interference in our election this fall,” said Secretary Aguilar. “I’m urging our federal delegation to support free and fair elections at every level of the process, including helping ensure that postal workers can scan and mail ballots without disruption. Mail voting is crucial for Nevadans across rural and urban spaces, and across party lines – election officials and postal workers are ready to a run safe, secure and accessible election again this year.”
