LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A driver is dead Thursday morning after crashing into a light pole in the northwest valley, police say.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred in the area of Grand Teton and Durango around 4:25 a.m. An investigation found that a gray Nissan sedan was traveling north on Durango when the driver left the roadway and struck a pole in the intersection.
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear. The driver was determined to have serious injuries and transported to a nearby hospital, where they later died.
Northbound lanes of the intersection and westbound Grand Teton will remain closed until further notice.
The public is advised to avoid the area.
