LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Strong winds are sweeping through the Las Vegas Valley Saturday afternoon.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a High Wind Warning for Clark County that will extend through early Sunday morning.
In Henderson, blowing dust can be seen for miles as heavy winds pick up.
The NWS said to expect southwest winds up to 40 mph. They also warn of gusts up to 80 mph near the peaks and up to 60 mph in Red Rock Canyon.
“Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles,” the weather service alert said.
As of this reporting, the High Wind Warning will remain effective until 4 a.m. Sunday.
