HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) — Just in time for the start of the school year, Henderson officials are celebrating the completion of major safety upgrades near nearly a dozen campuses.
The improvements aim to ensure a safer commute for students and families, whether they walk, bike, or drive to school.
Those improvements include:
Basic High School: New flashing pedestrian beacons nearby.
Bob Miller Middle School and Pinecrest Academy: New traffic signals.
Galloway, White, Treem and Liberty: Traffic safety improvements to improve visibility, calm traffic and reduce illegal U-turns.
Sue Morrow Elementary: Roadway rehabilitation, ADA sidewalk ramps and drainage improvements near the school.

Students with the Clark County School District are slated to head back to class on Monday, August 10.
