LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Hospitality Charitable Foundation will host its 11th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Canyon Gate Country Club.

The tournament brings together hospitality professionals and community members to support students pursuing hospitality degrees at UNLV. This year’s event marks 25 years of the foundation providing scholarships, mentorship and career development opportunities.

The Golf Classic will feature a putting contest, followed by a scramble-format tournament with a shotgun. Participants will receive complimentary beverages and appreciation gifts.

Supporting future hospitality leaders

Proceeds benefit the foundation’s Future Leaders of Hospitality Program, which provides UNLV students with full scholarships, mentorship, networking opportunities and career development support. Each student is paired with a mentor from the foundation’s board.

Current scholarship recipient Lazaro Cabrera Jr. is enrolled in UNLV’s PGA Golf Management Program, one of only 16 PGA-accredited programs in the country. The program offers classroom instruction, internships, community service and career development opportunities.

“What makes this event so meaningful is seeing exactly where that support goes,” said Bryan Fyler, foundation board member and chair of the Golf Classic. “We’re not just funding scholarships, we’re helping students step into real careers. Having one of our scholars currently enrolled in UNLV’s PGA Golf Management Program is a perfect example of how this industry shows up for its future leaders.”

A limited number of sponsorship opportunities are available. The foundation is also accepting raffle item donations, which will be featured during the event and recognized in tournament materials.

Canyon Gate Country Club is located at 2001 Canyon Gate Drive. Registration and sponsorship information are available at www.hcflv.org.
