LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – The two remaining individuals wanted in a homicide that left a 22-year-old dead at a ‘Movies in the Park’ event in Pahrump turned themselves in to law enforcement officials Tuesday, sources say.
Anthony Aguilar, 18, and Fabian Ferrante, 19, surrendered to law enforcement officials in Nye County Tuesday afternoon. Aguilar is a suspect in the shooting and was considered armed and dangerous, while Ferrante was no longer classified as a suspect, but rather a person of interest wanted for questioning.
Sources tell FOX5 Ferrante was released from custody Tuesday night while Aguilar is still in custody and could appear in court Wednesday.
Carlos Blakely, another person wanted by law enforcement officials in the shooting, surrendered to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officials Monday evening. Joe McGill, Nye County Sheriff, said Blakely’s mother helped bring him in.
“She doesn’t want her son to get hurt, so she said that she would assist us and get him to turn himself in,” McGill said. “And he did.”
The victim, identified as Joe Perry, 22, of Pahrump, was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was shot four times: once in his neck and three times to his back, officials said. Perry’s mother, Mary Ausiello, said the loss left her heart shattered.
Ausiello spoke at a Monday news conference, calling for the perpetrators in the shooting to step forward.
“He’s got family that loves him — stood behind him… He will never speak again,” Ausiello said. “You did this to my baby. Now be brave enough to come face the consequences.”
Anyone with information, video, or photos of the incident should send that evidence to [email protected] , officials said.
Officials ask anyone with information to call the Nye County Sheriff’s Office at 775-751-7000, option 5. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or via the organization’s website. A cash reward may be available.
