LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — As the A’s ballpark on the Strip takes shape, local artists are leaving their mark on the project.

Another phase of the team’s Las Vegas mural project is complete. Multiple artists will create murals on the construction wall surrounding the stadium as part of the 18-month project.

FOX5 caught up with Las Vegas-based artist Gear Duran as he put the final touches on his work. He said the opportunity has helped build up the local art scene.

“I really appreciate the sort of love that they’ve been bringing to a lot of the local talent out here,” Duran said. “It’s just been really great to see that they’ve had a really positive impact on the local art community.”

The A’s say six Las Vegas artists will create original works for the wall by the time the project is done.

The ballpark is expected to open in time for the A’s to play in Las Vegas for the 2028 season.
