LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A father was arrested on a murder charge after his son reportedly ingested fentanyl and died, according to police documents.
Barron Greene was arrested on murder and drug trafficking charges after his son died at St. Rose Siena Hospital on March 14. According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, officers found the child unconscious, unresponsive, and cold to the touch. The child was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead an hour later, an arrest report said.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the child as 3-year-old Jayden Greene. His cause and manner of death were pending as of March 26.
Police spoke with the mother, who split custody with Greene. According to an arrest report, the mother was aware that Greene reportedly did and sold drugs.
When police spoke with Greene, he told police, “He was laying there and I thought he was good, I don’t have no f—ing pills, I was not aware that he ate that sh– obviously.”
When police told Greene his son died, he said, “Just charge me with neglect I killed my f—king baby dude.”
After a search warrant, investigators found cocaine, meth, heroin, reported MDMA pills (pending testing) and multiple bags of blue pills labeled “Perc 30.″ Police said “Perc 30″ usually contains fentanyl.
Police also found a “Perc 30″ pill next to some vomit found in the home. Police believe Greene was high at the time of his son’s death, the arrest report said.
Greene is facing multiple drug trafficking charges and a murder charge in connection with his son’s death. Bail was set at $100,000, according to court records. His next hearing is April 16.
