LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Clark County Fire and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue went head-to-head Monday in a teddy bear stuffing challenge inside the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
The National Fire Protection Association hosted the event during its annual conference.
“We’re stuffing the bears here. We’re giving bears to kids in need, seniors in need, anybody in need during a traumatic event that we may come across on a call,” said Capt. Joey Virtuoso of Clark County Fire.

NFPA donated hundreds of “comfort bears,” which will ride on engines and ambulances and be handed to children and older adults during fires, crashes and medical emergencies.
In a close finish, Clark County squeezed out the win, 26 bears to Las Vegas Fire’s 25, meaning more of those bears will go to county crews.
Both departments say the real victors are the families who will get a little extra comfort on their worst days.
