LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Las Vegas man has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for illegally selling firearms and fentanyl pills.

According to prosecutors, between October and December 2024, 22-year-old Ty’Shaun Meeks sold multiple firearms, including an AR-556 rifle with a 30-round magazine, a 100-round drum magazine, several 9 mm and .40-caliber handguns, and two machine gun conversion devices.

He did not have a federal firearms license to sell guns, prosecutors said. They also said Meeks sold about 1,000 fentanyl pills for cash.

Meeks pleaded guilty to one count of engaging in the business of dealing or manufacturing firearms without a license and one count of distribution of a controlled substance.

A federal judge sentenced Meeks to 33 months in prison, followed by four years of supervised release.

In a statement, First Assistant U.S. Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada said the case shows the importance of law enforcement efforts to disrupt criminal networks involved in illegal firearms and narcotics.
