LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Two people were arrested in connection with a deadly robbery in late January, according to Las Vegas police.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said Ervin Ortega-Rodriguez, 21, and Daniel Meza-Ortega, 19, were arrested in connection with the Jan. 26 shooting in the 5200 block of Garden Lane, near Tropicana and Maryland Parkway.

According to police, three Hispanic men in their 30s were inside a garage in an apartment complex in the area. Police said two young Hispanic men approached the three other men and attempted to rob them, taking a set of keys and trying to steal a car in the garage. The three men chased the suspects until there was an altercation, during which one of the suspects shot two of the other men. Both victims were taken to the hospital where one died, LVMPD said.

Police said investigation led them to identifying Ortega-Rodriguez and Meza-Ortega as suspects. Ortega-Rodriguez was arrested Feb. 13 and Meza-Ortega was arrested Feb. 15. Both were booked into Clark County Detention Center on murder charges.
