LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are investigating after a man was killed in a physical altercation in the northeast Las Vegas Valley early on Wednesday morning.

According to an LVMPD release, dispatch received a report of a shooting on the 1400 block of Helen Belle Drive at approximately 12:13 a.m. Officers responded to the scene and found a man inside of a residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Medical personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The investigation by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicated that the victim was involved in a physical altercation with several subjects inside of the residence before he was shot. All suspects fled the area before officers arrived.

The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
