LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas patrol vehicle was involved in a three-vehicle crash on Monday night that left two people injured.

According to a report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a report of a crash near the intersection of Desert Inn and Paradise just before 8 p.m. Police said that a marked patrol vehicle was heading north on Paradise when a white sedan failed to yield to a traffic control device, striking the patrol vehicle.  

This crash resulted in a third vehicle being struck. An officer was taken to a nearby hospital out of precaution. The officer is listed in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.

The driver of the white sedan was also transported to a hospital and is listed in stable condition. There were no injuries to the driver of the third vehicle.

The intersection is closed at this time.  Impairment is not considered to be a factor in this incident, police said. LVMPD traffic officers have responded and are conducting the investigation.
