LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A woman seen on surveillance video driving through a Laughlin homeowner’s backyard wall in December faces a new traffic charge, according to court records.

Brittany Schrecengost is accused of showing a fake or suspended license plate or title, court records show. She will be arraigned on the charge in January.

The December crash

The video of the crash went viral in December. Homeowner Cletis Reed said a drunk driver crashed through his backyard wall, went airborne, landed in his pool and survived. The crash happened 10 months ago.

Reed had just stepped into his house when the car went airborne, and the driver ended up in his backyard pool. Reed pulled Schrecengost out of the pool.

Schrecengost’s arrest report says she admitted on Dec. 15 to drinking two beers and a shot of Jameson before the crash.

“It was like, ‘I’m going to relax in the Jacuzzi, have a nice cold one,’” Reed said of his plans that night.

Charges and sentence

Schrecengost faced multiple charges after the crash, including DUI, speeding, expired registration and no insurance.

Court records show she pleaded guilty to DUI, driving with a revoked license and having no insurance. She was sentenced to DUI school and community service.

Reed describes damage and effects

Reed said the damage cost about $225,000.

“Sometimes it’s a little bit weird in the backyard. Like if a car drives by, it makes a lot of noise. I snap my head,” Reed said.

Reed said he has not been the same since the crash.

“I had to go to psychiatry for a few months because I had PTSD. I changed. My personality was changing. I was getting angry at stuff,” he said.

Asked whether he feels Schrecengost received a slap on the wrist, Reed said she needs to grow up if the latest driving incident requires jail time.

“I mean, I don’t even hate her. I have no ill will against her because it’s just not who I am. But she needs to grow up,” Reed said.

Reed said he has yet to receive an apology from her.

Attempts to reach driver

FOX5 called Schrecengost in December and tried to reach her again for this story. The person who answered the phone said she was not available to talk.
