LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The man accused of killing a 12-year-old boy crossing the street in an alleged DUI crash pleaded guilty in court Monday morning.

Oh’Ryan Brooks is facing charges of reckless driving causing bodily harm or death, DUI, and duty to stop at the scene related to a crash that killed Cristofer Suarez in October 2025.

After agreeing to a plea deal earlier this month, Brooks may be required to pay around $6,900 in restitution to the victim’s family and face up to 20 years in prison.

After the crash, Suarez spent the weekend on life support at UMC before passing away on the following Monday. His mother told FOX5 that Cristofer had a mariachi performance the night he was hit. He was on his way into J.D. Smith Middle School early to practice.

Brooks is due back in court for sentencing on April 6.
