LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Celsius Rock ‘N’ Roll Running Series returned to the Las Vegas Strip over the weekend, drawing athletes, fans, tourists and spectators to the Las Vegas Strip.

On Saturday night, runners competed in a 5K race that started near the Downtown Events Center and finished at the Fremont Street Experience. On Sunday, a 10K and half marathon took runners from New York-New York hotel to the Bellagio.

Participants came from near and far

Among those taking part were a group from Dublin, Ireland, who said they were in town for a birthday celebration.

“We just came here for a 30th birthday celebration and we decided to do some running along the way to make it a bit more exciting,” Alex, the birthday girl, said.

Others came to cheer on loved ones. One Las Vegas woman, Jenna, said she was on the sidelines for her boyfriend’s half marathon run.

“I’m here supporting my boyfriend, Alvin, in the half marathon,” Jenna said. “He didn’t really have a true preparation, so to build up the courage to run 13.1 miles within like the past few days is amazing.”

Runners share personal stories

Some participants ran with personal motivation. Jeaux Archambeault, who competed in the 5K, said the race marked a milestone in his recovery from a serious injury.

“I did this really as a favor of myself because I was blocked out of life for seven years,” Archambeault said.

“I was hit by a car in Sarasota, Florida. I got a diffuse axonal brain injury where my skull cut my brain. Couldn’t read, couldn’t speak, couldn’t sing, couldn’t walk.”

Archambeault said he finished the race with a sense of accomplishment.

“I did pretty good. It took about 400 people to beat me,” he said.

Gabriel Valles said he ran the event to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“I’m actually doing it by myself, but for St. Jude,” Valles said.

“I have a special needs nephew, and so St. Jude has been very real important in our lives. And so I felt that giving back to the charity that has been very helpful to our family was just something that I had to do.”

The Rock N’ Roll Running Series will be back in Las Vegas in February 2027.
