LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 28-year-old man has died following a rollover crash on Las Vegas Boulevard in the northeast valley, according to the Nevada State Police.
The crash happened at approximately 4:35 a.m. on Friday, July 31, on southbound State Route 604, also known as Las Vegas Boulevard, near a private drive north of Larson Lane, troopers said.

A preliminary investigation indicates a white 2003 Toyota 4Runner SUV was traveling southbound on Las Vegas Boulevard in the number one travel lane, approaching a private drive north of Larson Lane, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Troopers said the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, entered the right shoulder and struck a stop sign. The Toyota overturned into the right shoulder area, ejecting the unrestrained driver, troopers said.
The driver, identified as Sheldon Leroy Pomaika’i Duarte, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Duarte later died from his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital on Aug. 10.
The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command, the agency has investigated 44 fatal crashes resulting in 47 fatalities in 2026 year to date. The agency said 2026 fatality data is preliminary and may change based on final investigation and coroner reports.
