LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Mesquite Fire Rescue officials are responding to a brush fire along the Virgin River, according to authorities.

According to Mesquite Fire Rescue, a two-seat plane from Cedar City is assisting with fire suppression efforts. Officials say there are 45 first responders on scene.

What we know

  • About 31 acres have burned so far
  • Multiple agencies have been relieved of their assistance including (Beaver Dam and Clark County Fire Department)
  • U.S. Wildfire Services will remain on scene overnight to ensure hot spots are fully extinguished
  • No word on containment percentage

This is a multi-agency effort including the U.S. Wildfire Service, Mesquite Police Department, Beaver Dam Fire, Overton Power, and Clark County Fire Department in response to the ongoing wildfire.

Officials report no structures or homes in the area are in danger. Agencies are working together to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading into more populated areas.
