LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Mojave Max, the desert tortoise who lives at the Springs Preserve, is still in brumation underground, Clark County officials said.

He is now four days away from his latest emergence date ever, set last year on May 8.
Max’s first appearance each year is widely considered the unofficial start of spring in Southern Nevada.
