LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — According to a release from the Clark County School District, 70% of schools have shown improvements in English and math proficiency.

The data is part of the Nevada School Performance Framework ratings, which are used to classify schools within a five-star performance rating system.

Data from the Nevada Department of Education show improvements in both English language arts and mathematics proficiency across all levels, including elementary, middle and high school.

CCSD officials stated that the most significant improvement was observed in middle school English language arts proficiency, which increased by 4.9% districtwide. Chronic absenteeism in CCSD has improved, with rates reduced by more than 4%, down to 26.9% from 31.3% in the 2023-24 school year.

A total of 272 CCSD schools improved their NSPF rating for 2025 compared with 2024, officials said. The following 50 CCSD schools improved their scores by 20 points or more:

“Student success is our core focus as we become the Destination District,” said Jhone Ebert, CCSD superintendent. “Although there is more work to be done, these results demonstrate that investments made in public education are working. Great things happen in our schools when we are able to utilize high-quality instructional materials and ensure there are highly effective teachers in our classrooms.”

Additional data show that 48 CCSD schools have received five-star ratings, up from 28 in 2024. Fifty-four schools were ranked at four stars, while 73 schools earned three stars, CCSD officials said. Specific school, district or state data is available on the Nevada Report Card site.
