LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Most of the individuals arrested during a June protest in Las Vegas will not be prosecuted, city officials said Friday.

More than 90 people were arrested during an anti-ICE protest in downtown Las Vegas on June 11 during what police called an “unlawful demonstration” on Las Vegas Boulevard.

“After a thorough review of cases stemming from recent protest-related arrests, the Las Vegas City Attorney’s Office has determined that no additional prosecutions will be pursued,” city officials said.

The people taken into custody were arrested, booked and served time in jail, according to officials. During the incident, protesters were cited for throwing water bottles and rocks at officers, as well as disrupting roadways and damaging property, police said.

“Dispersal orders were given for the crowd of approximately 800 to leave the area. Officers issued dispersal orders in both English and Spanish,” police said at the time. “Citizens who refused to comply were arrested for various criminal and traffic infractions.”

Four officers were hurt during the protest. Buildings were spray-painted, and other property was vandalized, police said.

Officials from the city of Las Vegas said that, based on the City Attorney’s Office review of the evidence, each case had resulted in “a meaningful consequence and an appropriate measure of accountability.”
