LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Reducing drug overdoses at home.

That’s the goal of the Southern Nevada Health District’s new test strip mail-order program to those living in the valley.

The free program is known as “The Strip Club,” and it makes detecting fentanyl and other dangerous drugs easy.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that it up to 100 stronger than morphine.

Metro Police recently telling FOX5 it’s rampant on our streets, and other drugs are being laced with it.

The test strip program has been in place for a few years to help people on the streets.

But SNHD’s Health Education Supervisor, Jessica Johnson says it was important to send these strips straight to homes.

“Over the last several years that most fatal overdoses occur in the home,” Johnson said. “So our team has been brainstorming ways to think about how we get harm reduction supplies out to folks in the home setting.”
