LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas valley motorists are being advised of closures coming up for the Dropicana 2.0 project by the Nevada Department of Transportation.

Officials say Tropicana and I-15 will have full closures in February. Dropicana 2.0 is expected by NDOT to be a regional traffic event. It includes the demolition of the south half of the Tropicana Avenue bridge over I-15.

From Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 9 p.m. to Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 5 a.m., Tropicana Avenue will be fully closed between New York-New York and Dean Martin Drive.

All on and off ramps at I-15 and Tropicana Avenue will be closed during this time, officials say. This is to prepare for phase three of construction return the temporary diverging diamond interchange movement, and prepare for Dropicana 2.0

I-15 will be fully closed between Russell Road and Flamingo Road starting Friday, Feb. 16 at 9 p.m. to Monday, Feb. 19 at 5 a.m., NDOT says. Tropicana Avenue will also be closed fully in both directions between NYNY and Dean Martin Drive.

Additional closures are as follows, per NDOT:

  • Flamingo Rd. onramp to southbound I-15
  • Harmon Ave. ramps at I-15
  • Northbound I-15 access to Arena Dr.
  • Russell Rd. onramp to northbound I-15
  • I-215 ramps to northbound I-15
  • Las Vegas Blvd. onramp to northbound I-15

Officials say the closures are similar to what happened in January. Motorists are advised to avoid I-15 between the Spaghetti Bowl and 215 interchange between the night of Feb. 16 and the morning of Feb. 19.
