LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Will Michele Fiore be reinstated as a Pahrump Justice of the Peace? That’s a decision the Nevada Judicial Discipline Commission is making behind closed doors after a public hearing Friday afternoon.

The former Las Vegas councilwoman was found guilty of several counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in October 2024. Fiore collected money to build a police officers’ memorial. Instead, she was found guilty of pocketing the donations.

She previously faced up to 140 years in prison, and her sentencing was scheduled on May 14.

Following Fiore’s conviction, the Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline voted unanimously to suspend her from her position as a Pahrump judge without pay. But President Trump pardoned the former councilwoman in late April.

The Commissioners held a public hearing Friday afternoon to determine whether Fiore’s suspension “is still warranted following the presidential pardon and, if not, to determine whether [Fiore] poses a substantial threat of serious harm to the public or the administration of justice,” court documents said.

The hearing was held via Zoom. Fiore appeared behind her lawyer, Paola Armeni, who spoke on her behalf.

Armeni stated that the suspension was not warranted since President Trump pardoned Fiore. Armeni also argued that a suspension extension was outside of the commission’s jurisdiction, since it referred to her time as a Las Vegas city councilwoman.

Commissioner Karl Armstrong told Armeni the commission would let her know when a decision was made. The Commission then went into a private session to deliberate, and a public hearing was adjourned.

It remains unclear if Fiore’s suspension will be lifted.
