LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Hundreds of Las Vegas police vehicles are impacted by a nationwide recall involving Ford vehicles.
The department tells FOX5 159 vehicles to be exact.
The recall affects police explorers from the 2020 through 2022 model years that have both 3.5 liter hybrid and gas engines.
If motors fail, oil and fuel could enter into the engine compartment and build up near ignition sources. This could cause vehicle fires.
Metro said they have not experienced any issues related to this recall.
North Las Vegas police said since Ford has not released the VIN numbers of the affected vehicles, they do not know if any of their vehicles are involved.
Henderson police said they only have two Ford Explorers and both are older than the recall.
