LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 32-year-old pedestrian is dead after being struck by a semi-truck in North Las Vegas on Thursday morning.
Officers with the North Las Vegas Police Department (NLVPD) responded to the collision near the intersection of Lone Mountain Road and Lamb Boulevard at approximately 9:33 a.m. Responding officers located the pedestrian, identified as a 32-year-old male, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to a preliminary investigation, a Kenworth semi-truck was making a northbound turn onto Lamb Boulevard when it struck the pedestrian, who was crossing Lamb Boulevard on foot from east to west on the north side of Lone Mountain Road.
Police said the truck driver did not see the pedestrian before the collision. The driver remained on the scene, and investigators do not suspect impairment played a role in the crash.
The NLVPD Major Collision Investigation Unit is leading the ongoing investigation, with assistance from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased’s name and determine the official cause and manner of death.
