HENDERSON, Nev. (FOX5) — Penta Building Group has moved its headquarters into a 55,000-square-foot office in Henderson, bringing about 100 employees under one roof to support hundreds more across Southern Nevada.
The company says about 70% of the workers in the new office live in Henderson. The space includes amenities to make the workplace more comfortable, including a gym.
John Cannito, president and CEO of Penta Building Group, said the company was growing so quickly it found itself spread across five different offices and decided to consolidate into one building.
“We’ve moved a hundred of our employees into this office, but we actually have 550, I think, employees in southern Nevada,” Cannito said. “And it’s pretty exciting for us, because for us, as a general contractor, a construction company, our strengths are people.”
The company supports about 900 to 1,000 total employees across the Southwest.
Growth and stability
Cannito said the company is hiring 10 to 15 people every month. Penta Building Group does about $2.3 billion worth of work a year.
The company has worked on projects including the Henderson Police Station, the Denver Marsh Center for Excellence and the M Resort Tower. Other projects include hospitality, gaming, a children’s hospital and Clark County School District work.
Cannito said Southern Nevada’s construction market feels more stable than in previous years.
“We don’t feel the rollercoaster ride bumps as much as we used to in the early 2000s,” he said.
The company bought the building and remodeled the inside. Employees were allowed to personalize their offices.
