LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Power has been restored to a Las Vegas senior living facility after a dust storm and severe thunderstorm warning.
Tuesday through Thursday, high winds, rain and dust swept across the valley. Gusts reached a record of 64 mph speeds, according to valley airports.
FOX5 has been following the status of seniors at Montara Meadows after approximately 30 poles were damaged or destroyed along Tropicana Avenue between Eastern and Sandhill.
Staff told FOX5 about 158 seniors live at the property.

During the storms, some seniors went to go live with families or sought emergency shelter at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Friday, according to an email from Montara Meadows, the facility’s power is back online.
The facility thanked Emergency Management Services, the American Red Cross and the Las Vegas Convention Center for support.
