BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (FOX5) — A Las Vegas man suffered serious injuries after his rental jet ski collided head-on with a water taxi on the Colorado River.
Bullhead City Police boating officers responded to the collision near the Pioneer Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, at approximately 1 p.m.
A 36-year-old man from Las Vegas was operating a rental personal watercraft northbound when he collided with a southbound water taxi. The operator was ejected from the watercraft. He was wearing a life jacket at the time of the collision.
The jet ski operator suffered a serious leg injury and other injuries and was transported to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City.
He is expected to be transferred to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas for further treatment.
Nine people were on the water taxi at the time. One passenger reported minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.
The investigation remains ongoing.
