LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Police are looking for a suspect after a shooting near the UNLV campus Saturday night.
Police said the shooting happened around 11:15 p.m. at the University Gateway Building parking structure in the 4700 block of S. Maryland Parkway, across the street from the UNLV campus.
Police said the victim in the shooting was taken to a local hospital and was released. Police said the victim was not affiliated with the university.
The suspect fled the area south and away from UNLV’s campus. While police looked for the suspect, a shelter-in-place order was issued for people living in the YOU apartments in the Gateway Building. The shelter-in-place was lifted around 1:15 a.m. Sunday.
University Police continues to investigate with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. Police said there is no threat to the campus.
