LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Dozens of local foster kids spent Wednesday at Cowabunga Bay thanks to St. Jude’s Ranch for Children.
The nonprofit brought about 80 kids to the water park. Many of them are brothers and sisters who are separated in foster care and don’t often get to see each other.
They spent the day swimming, hitting the slides and having lunch together, all for free, thanks to the park and volunteers.

“We have up to 80 children that will be here today, brothers and sisters that are separated in foster care. They get to get reunited for a fun day together, creating positive childhood memories and enjoying all that Cowabunga Bay has to offer,” said Christina Vela, CEO of St. Jude’s Ranch for Children.
Vela said this is the 11th year they have done this event.
For some of these kids, it may be the only time they ever get to visit a water park and do it side by side with their siblings.
