LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A suspect who jumped at a judge during a sentencing hearing on January 3 has been charged with attempted murder and a host of other charges following the incident.

Deobra Redden appeared in Clark County District Court on Monday after his initial hearing had to be delayed following the attack that went viral. He was sentenced to 19-48 months in jail for charges of attempted battery in an unrelated case.

Also on January 8, Redden was charged for the running jump he took at Judge Mary Kay Holthus. He now faces over a dozen new charges, including attempted murder of an older person, battery on a protected person resulting in substantial bodily harm, and battery by a prisoner.

He has an initial appearance on these charges scheduled for Tuesday morning in Clark County Justice Court. A different judicial officer, Judge Diana L. Sullivan, is set to preside over that case.
