LAKE HAVASU, AZ (AZFamily) — A teen is dead after a boating accident on Lake Havasu Saturday.
Mohave County Sheriff’s Deputies say they responded to the area south of Body Beach for reports of a person who was not breathing.
When deputies arrived, they saw that a 17-year-old boy had been pulled from the water, and bystanders were performing CPR. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Deputies learned the teen was from Moreno Valley, California. They say that while he was operating a personal watercraft, his family lost sight of him for a short time. The teen was later found in the lake by a passing boater; he was not breathing. He was wearing a life jacket.
Detectives say information suggests it was a single-vessel crash. The incident is still being investigated.
