LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A local middle schooler is celebrating a major milestone after being diagnosed with a brain tumor earlier this year — and Make-A-Wish Nevada is helping him mark the moment.
Aa’Ryan Fields was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the start of 2026. After undergoing surgery, his most recent scans show he is tumor-free. His care is ongoing.
A wish granted
Make-A-Wish Nevada granted Aa’Ryan his wish: a gaming and streaming setup to fuel his passion for video games. Aa’Ryan plans to make videos and live stream video-game-related content to share that passion with the world.

‘Heart of a lion’
Fields and his family gathered to celebrate the wish grant, reflecting on the journey that brought them to this moment. His father, Maine Fields, said his son’s strength carried the family through the diagnosis.
“I know my son’s small. But his heart is… he’s got the heart of a lion. And he definitely put some ease in my heart,” Maine Fields said.
Aa’Ryan said he found himself comforting his father when the diagnosis came.
“I was trying to calm him down when he found out that I had a brain tumor in my head. I know he’s been breaking down in tears. I was like, Dad, it’s okay. We’re going to get to the bottom of this. And when I went through my surgery, I was fine,” Aa’Ryan said.
