LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Vegas Golden Knights are marking the start of their 10th season with a fan celebration Tuesday at the newly named Paramount Plus Plaza on the Las Vegas Strip.
A gold carpet rollout is scheduled for 4 p.m. ahead of puck drop at 7:30 p.m. against the Chicago Blackhawks. Fans are encouraged to arrive about a half hour before the rollout to see players, coaches and broadcasters walk the gold carpet into the arena. Doors open to fans at 6 p.m.

Fans who attend the gold carpet event will be entered into a contest to win tickets to Tuesday’s game. The first 500 people lining up next to the gold carpet will have a chance to win.
The first 10,000 people through the doors will receive a season 10 patch that can be pressed onto their jerseys.
Season by the numbers
VGK has the best winning percentage of any franchise in NHL history. Since entering the league, no team has played in or won more playoff games than the Golden Knights.
The Knights have missed the playoffs only once and are not favored to miss the playoffs this year. They have the fifth-best odds to win the Stanley Cup this season. Last year, the team was eliminated by Carolina.
Most of the roster returns from last season, though the team has a new coach who came from its minor league affiliate. The coach is bringing the same philosophy, and the team is expected to continue playing the same style of hockey.
This season, the NHL is playing an 84-game regular season for the first time, up from 82 games, giving the Golden Knights one additional home game.
The season opener against the Chicago Blackhawks begins at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
