LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The two teens killed in a southeast Las Vegas crash over the weekend have been identified.

The Clark County Coroner identified the two as Thomas Quintero Jr., 16, and Eduardo Barragan, 16. Both died of blunt force injuries to the head and torso.

The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. near Pecos Road and Hacienda Avenue, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. An investigation revealed that the teens ran a red light and collided with another vehicle before hitting a street pole.

Both teens were ejected from the vehicle, and the vehicle was reportedly split in half.

The passenger was pronounced dead on scene, according to LVMPD. The driver was taken to Sunrise Hospital where he later died.

“Clark County citizens, you need to obey traffic laws, slow down, get off your phones, wear your seatbelts, stop running red lights,” said an officer at the scene of Saturday’s fatal crash. “Save a life, even if it’s your own.”
