LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Two people have died and another is suffering from critical injuries following their vehicle crashing into a power pole Thursday evening.
The crash happened just after 7:40 p.m. when a single vehicle collided with a power pole on East Carey Avenue, just east of North Pecos Road, a news release said.
According to police and witness statements, the driver lost control of the vehicle as they approached the intersection. “The Nissan struck a curb, then traveled onto the sidewalk, hit a wall, collided with a power pole, and then was redirected back into the roadway where it came to final rest,” the report said.
The two adult women in the driver and passenger seats were pronounced dead on the scene. Police said a juvenile was pinned in the rear seat. The 9-year-old girl was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The deaths mark Metro’s 75th and 76th in its jurisdiction.
