LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Two juveniles were arrested for bringing a gun onto a Las Vegas high school campus on Wednesday.

According to a spokesperson from the Clark County School District Police Department, the two juveniles were arrested after it was reported that one of them may have been in possession of a weapon on the campus of Clark High School in the southwest Las Vegas Valley.

Police said that the two were taken into custody without incident and taken to juvenile booking to face gun-related charges. The weapon was turned over to the LVMPD/ATF firearms task force for testing.

An investigation is ongoing. CCSDPD Lt. Bryan Zink added the following statement:

“We would like to remind parents to talk to their children about what they are not allowed to bring to school and that possession of certain firearms by persons under the age of 21 is illegal in Nevada,” he said. “We would also like to ask everyone to please be responsible gun owners by keeping all firearms secure and to report stolen firearms to the police as soon as possible.”
