LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A rising toll of heat-related fatalities has claimed 29 lives in Clark County so far this year, with victims ranging in age from 28 to 87.
The region’s first death was a 79-year-old man in late January, while the most recent and youngest casualty was a 28-year-old woman who died on June 21, according to county data through July 16.
Officials attribute the deaths to causes ranging from acute heat stroke to probable environmental heat exposure.
By comparison, the Clark County coroner reported 279 heat-related deaths in 2025, including an 18-year-old who was among the youngest victims.

The update comes as Las Vegas continues to push temperature records, with an Extreme Heat Warning set to go into effect from Thursday through Sunday.
