LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Five suspects have been arrested in connection to a deadly apartment shooting that happened in 2022, Las Vegas police announced on Friday.

On July 29, 2022, around 10:13 p.m., police received a report of a shooting in the 1900 block of Cindysue Street. Arriving officers located a man and woman inside an apartment suffering from gunshot wounds. Both would later be declared dead at the scene.

An investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department revealed that the victims were inside an apartment when two unidentified male suspects knocked on the door. An argument began between the victims and the suspects and eventually escalated into a physical confrontation between the suspects and the male victim.

During the struggle, a suspect produced a firearm and shot the victims before fleeing the area.

LVMPD identified five individuals as suspects in the case: Emerson Hewitt, 18; Damion Mixon, 18; Larry Young, 18; Mark Burton, 20; and Nasir Leggroan, 20. Hewitt was arrested on Monday, April 8, while the other four were apprehended on Wednesday, April 17.

All were booked into Clark County Detention Center on two counts of open murder.
