LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A semi-tractor driver accused of being impaired during a Laughlin crash was sentenced Thursday.
Court records indicate that 29-year-old Claude Rafiki will serve about 4-10 years in prison.
Nevada State Police said the crash happened March 23. It involved a semi-tractor and two motorcycles.
Three people died in the crash. They were identified as Jeremy George Gebo, 44; Owen Merrell Hart, 22; and Athena Faye Taylor, 21. They are all from St. George, Utah.
Police said the motorcyclists were traveling eastbound on 163 in the eastbound lane when Rafiki reportedly crossed an unprotected center median and crossed paths of the motorcyclists.
The three died at the scene.
