LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Department of Motor Vehicles office in Pahrump has finally reopened after a month-long closure.

Last month, the Nye County Sheriff’s Office announced that the office would be closed for an “unknown period of time” while it underwent repairs. A fire had broken out on the roof of the building and traveled through the office’s electrical system, though the cause of the fire remains unknown.

Repairs were also needed for flooding from a broken pipe.

The Nye County Sheriff’s Office announced that the Pahrump office will be closed for an “unknown period of time” after a fire broke out last week.

NCSO said the State Fire Marshall’s office conducted a final inspection of the location and gave a green light for reopening. Operations at the location resumed on Thursday, Aug. 29.

However, due to severe damage to computers and other equipment, only five of the ten windows will be open for service.

Customers will be able to walk in or schedule appointments once again with the DMV’s new system, WaitWell.
