LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A North Las Vegas elementary school is on a hard lockdown Thursday afternoon while police investigate a nearby shooting.

According to the North Las Vegas Police Department, two individuals fired several rounds from a handgun and threatened a motorist in the 3100 block of Emmons Avenue. Tom Williams Elementary School was placed under a hard lockdown as a precaution.

No injuries have been reported.

NLVPD says one suspect has surrendered while the other fled into a nearby residence. A firearm was also recovered from the scene.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and NLVPD is “closely monitoring” the situation.
