LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nye County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that school shooting threats that had spread in the community were unfounded.

NCSO said there were reports on social media of a potential shooting at Pahrump Valley High School, even multiple people reporting a specific suspect.

That juvenile suspect denied making any threats, NCSO said, and it was later discovered that the juveniles reporting the threats said they didn’t hear anything directly and were reporting what they heard from others or saw on social media.

“We have interviewed every person that was reported as spreading this information and none of them directly heard the alleged threats,” NCSO said in a statement.

The sheriff’s office said they determined there was no credible threat to the school.
