LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A father and daughter are suing a Las Vegas fertility clinic for reportedly mixing up an IVF treatment.

The daughter says she used ancestry.com to learn more about her background. The woman’s parents went to a fertility clinic around 2004 to look for an egg donor after her late mother learned she could not conceive.

Her father’s wife died in 2022. Her father told her about the IVF treatment after the DNA test.

The woman who filed the lawsuit was born Oct. 2006.

The ancestry results came back Oct. 2023. The results revealed that the woman’s father is not her biological father, and the egg donor chosen by the couple is not the mother.

The daughter and father learned that she was born from another embryo created by the doctor for another couple whose biological father was a man in Las Vegas.

The lawsuit says the father never gave permission or consent to use the embryo created for them to be used by anyone else.

The father is now undergoing adoption proceedings to legally become his daughter’s father.

The lawsuit claims that the embryo created by the father and the chosen egg donor could have been implanted in someone else.

The lawsuit says both the father and daughter suffered extreme and severe emotional upset.

FOX5 is reaching out to the doctors named in the suit for comment.
