LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A lengthy Metro Police arrest report details how the department connected 34-year-old burglary suspect Cedric Hasan Junior to 34 burglaries, most of them in Chinatown.

The break-ins started near the end of June and ran until late September.

The arrest report indicates $200,000 was stolen and businesses suffered thousands of dollars in damage from broken windows and damaged to security systems.

Police arrested Hasan on November 19 with the help of a SWAT team.

The arrest report says several detectives and patrol officers were involved in trying to crack the cases. The report says one thing that helped them was the similarities in crimes.

In many cases, the suspect would remove weather stripping and a window to get inside, or he smashed windows with a yellow crowbar.

The report also says the suspect ripped alarm systems off walls and disabled security cameras. The suspect was also seen on security cameras hauling away store safes.

Hasan’s Instagram and Facebook pages may have turned out to haunt him. Police say some posts showed him wearing clothing that was similar to the clothing he wore in many of the burglaries.

The suspect was also seen on camera several times wearing what were described as yellow and white welding gloves.

Metro Police later talked to the owner of the fence company where Hasan worked and the owner told police Hasan was a welder, according to the arrest report.

A detective noticed some yellow and white gloves at the business, which the owner said appeared to be used by the company, according to the report. A yellow crowbar was also found at the business. The report says Hasan was seen with a yellow crowbar during some of the burglaries.

The report also says police were able to help identify Hasan because he walked with a similar gait, with his toes pointing inward.

Police say they also connected Hasan to the burglaries with the help of his phone, which was determined to be in the area of burglaries.

Officials also reported Hasan’s 2020 BMW was seen in the area of multiple burglaries, with the help of Automated License Plate Reader-related software.

The report says Hasan was involved in a couple other series of burglaries, one in 2019 in North Las Vegas and another in 2016.

In 2016 the burglaries involved 20 businesses. They say the thefts stopped after Hasan’s arrest that year.

The report says Hasan made $87 per hour at the fence company. But his girlfriend told police the suspect has a gambling addiction, which the report said, “would show a motivating factor why he would be committing the burglaries so frequently.”

Hasan is set to appear in court on Dec. 9.
